Midsummer, sleeping in too late.
I close my eyes when you get up to leave.
Count sunspots in my eyelids well past one,
Then brake/make the days first promises with my heavy tongue.
Well it's one foot in front of the other.
Some days slower some days faster.
Steady pace.
I ignore useless advice.
Constant distractions leaving ugly bruises on my thighs.
No one knows how to be happy.
It's just one foot in front of the other,
Some days slower some days faster,
But we, must keep up a steady pace.
For we must not keep the devil waiting.
This is Alyssa's first solo album. It's really beautiful! She is a quiet storm. I often find myself coming back to this album and the stories in it. I also suggest her 2016 seasonal split series! Garrett Walters
I am always in awe of the way Frances's lyrics tumble forward so naturally. This album is so thoughtfully put together. Often very minimalist, but always feeling full & present. It's under my skin. Garrett Walters
A timeless album from one of the all time folk punk greats. I am so grateful for Pat the Bunny having blessed mine and so many other's with their music! This album will always be here for me. junehenryfan4lyfe
